DIVE TRIP ORGANISATION PROCEDURE AND RULES FOR DIVERS WISHING TO ORGANISE OR DIVE ON A CLUB TRIP

  • ELIGIBILITY

NON BSAC MEMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON CLUB TRIPS

NON CLUB MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED IF THEY ARE NOT TAKING THE PLACE OF A CLUB MEMBER (PRIORITY IS TO BE GIVEN TO CURRENT CLUB MEMBERS) PROVIDED THEY ARE A CURRENT BSAC MEMBER

IF A CLUB MEMBER WISHES TO GO ON A TRIP WERE THE TRIP LEVEL OF QUALIFICATION REQUIRED IS ABOVE THERE QUALIFICATION GRADE THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BOOK ON THE TRIP PROVIDED THEY AGREE TO ATTAIN THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND GRADE BY THE TIME OF THE TRIP.

 IT IS THE DIVERS RESPONSIBILTY TO ATTAIN THE LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED THEY SHOULD  DISCUSS THIS WITH THE DIVING OFFICER AND TRAINING OFFICER TO SEE IF THIS WILL BE POSSIBLE GIVEN TIME CONSTRAINTS AND PREVIOUS QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL BEFORE BOOKING ON A TRIP.

IF A DIVER BOOKS ON A TRIP AND THEN DOES NOT ATTAIN THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION BY THE TIME OF THE TRIP IF IT IS NOT THEN POSSIBLE TO TAYLOR THE TRIP TO THERE QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE LEVEL THE DIVER CAN BE EXCLUDED FROM THE TRIP AND AS STATED IN SECTION 2 THEY ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR TRIP COSTS ETC

  • BOOKING ON A TRIP

THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT MUST BE PAID ASAP TO SECURE A PLACE ON THE TRIP IF THIS IS NOT PAID BY THE REQUIRED TIME THE PLACE WILL BE OFFERED TO A RESERVE FOR THE TRIP

ONCE A DEPOSIT IS PAID TO THE TRIP ORGANISER THE DIVER THEN BECOMES RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST OF THE TRIP EVEN IF THE DIVER GOES ON THE TRIP OR NOT THEY STILL MUST PAY THE FULL AMOUNT DUE UNLESS THEY CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT TO GO ON THE TRIP (THIS IS THE DIVERS RESPOSIBILITY NOT THE TRIP ORGANISERS)

UNLESS IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE PLACE TO BE CANCELLED WITHOUT ANY COST TO THE TRIP ORGANISER

IT IS ADVISABLE TO TAKE OUT TRAVEL INSURANCE THAT WILL COVER YOU IN CASE OF CANCELLATION DUE TO ILLNESS ETC

  • TRIP ADVERTISEMENT

ALL TRIPS ARE TO BE FIRST APPROVED BY THE DIVING OFFICER WHO WILL THEN ADVISE AND ASSIST WITH TRIP ADVERTISEMENT

THIS CAN BE DONE BY SEVERAL MEANS

PLACE ON CLUB WEBSITE

CLUB FACEBOOK PAGE

GOOGLE GROUPS

PERSONAL EMAIL

TEXT MESSAGING

ONCE APPROVED A NOTICE MUST BE PLACED AT THE CLUB BY THE ORGANISER AND A DATE GIVEN TO INTERESTED DIVERS  THAT THEY MUST COME UP TO THE CLUB AND SIGN UP ONTO THE TRIP BEFORE (THIS WILL BE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS)

 NO NAMES CAN BE PLACED ON THE NOTICE BY THE ORGANISER OTHER THAN HIS OWN

IF A TRIP CAN’T BE FILLED THROUGH IN CLUB ADVERTISEMENT THEN IT CAN BE ADVERTISED OUTSIDE THE CLUB TO OTHER BSAC CLUBS

IF ANY CONCERNS ARE RAISED ABOUT DIVER EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION FOR NON CLUB MEMBERS ATTENDING A TRIP IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE TRIP ORGANISER WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE DIVING OFFICER CONTACT THE DIVING OR TRAINING OFFICER OF THE CLUB OF THE NON CLUB DIVER WISHING TO GO ON THE TRIP TO CHECK QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
