Menai Boat Run 2018

Hey everyone, we’ve been invited to take part in this year’s charity Menai Boat Run on the 25th March 2018, in aid of the RNLI. We’ll be taking one of our boats for a blast along the Menai Straight with over 25 other BSAC clubs, the Straight has many fantastic sites and it promises to be a great day! We are planning to make it a weekend of fun and weather permitting some diving on Saturday 24th

RNLI presentation

A great night with Martin Chapelow Chair of the Bradford RNLI giving us an insight into to work and dangers that the volunteer lifeboat men and women face. Some fantastic videos of actual rescues and not so great launches of lifeboats in storm force seas. The night ended with Glyn looking great in his latest RNLI outfit!!!

A big thanks to martin and all who came along to support the event.

The Club has received a Defibrillator training unit
The club has just received some extra funding provided by Yorkshire sport  (Sportivate) that has enabled us to obtain a training unit for our HeartStart FRx defibrillator.
The FRx Training Unit will ensure  that we can now provide realistic and hands-on training, and be able to familiarise everyone who uses the club with our life-saving device.
Why Know how to use the Defibrillator

A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. A person's chance of survival falls by about 10%* with each minute that passes without defibrillation.

The risk of death can be reduced if you have a defibrillator, know how to use it and  know where it is.

Every second matters and attending a course on the correct use of a defibrillator will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively. Most importantly, the course will also teach defibrillator operators how to perform effective CPR.

With grateful thanks to  Yorkshire Sport for providing the funding.
